DAY 6 - Proverbs 17:9,14

DAY 6 - Proverbs 17:9,14

Key Scripture -Proverbs 17:9, 14 NLT

Love prospers when a fault is forgiven, but dwelling on it separates close friends. Starting a quarrel is like opening a floodgate, so stop before a dispute breaks out.

Everyone has had the experience of being hurt by someone- a friend, a spouse, parent, even our children can offend us at times. The more we think about what the other person did to offend us, the greater the sense of division and unrest that we feel. Instead of dwelling on these things, this verse tells us that we need to be quick to forgive. Remember that only God is perfect and people will offend us and hurt us at times. A close friend of mine has a great policy- it’s called a “No Offence Policy.” This means that she refuses to allow offence to come between her and others, but instead she’s determined to be quick to forgive and allow love to prosper in her relationships. Is there someone who has hurt or offended you? Take time to forgive them and then make a decision that you will take up the no offence policy in your life.
