DAY 19 - 1 Peter 3:9-10
Key Scripture - 1 Peter 3:9-10
Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. For whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.
It’s not very difficult to be kind and courteous when others are showing you the same treatment in return. It becomes a challenge when we find ourselves in situations where others are being selfish, inconsiderate and just plain rude. Our natural response is to defend ourselves and respond with equally accusing and hurtful words, while God asks us to do just the opposite. He is asking us to deny our desire to retaliate with our words and, instead, speak blessing to those who insult us. In return, God promises to bless us and fill our days with good.
