DAY 26 - Romans 12:10b

Key Scripture – Romans 12:10b

Take delight in honoring each other.

Picture this: A great man has passed away. A man whose life impacted the world. He was known throughout the communities he worked and lived in as an intelligent and kind man. He wasn’t a man without faults, though. A good friend of this man stands to share a few thoughts in remembering the life he lived. As the friend began to speak, he quickly skimmed over the accomplishments and instead began airing his grievances about this great man. If we were in attendance, we would all be shocked and appalled with this “friend” that instead of honouring the great man, disgraced him instead.

The Word says to take “delight”, or great pleasure in honouring one another. We all make mistakes. No one is perfect. But instead of always bringing up someone’s past failure, why not find ways to honour or esteem someone for their efforts and the good things they’ve done. You’ll find that you become like this “great man”, making a big difference in the lives of those that surround your everyday life. Sometimes, the greatest accomplishments we can have are the ones where we’ve inspired others to carry on in their dreams. Today, choose to speak life.
